Increased Ticket Sales Boost Orpheum and Holland Rankings
Omaha Performing Arts has announced that the Orpheum Theater and Holland Performing Arts Center are once again listed among the top 200 venues in the world by Pollstar, the industry’s major publication covering the worldwide concert industry.
According to Pollstar’s year-end Worldwide Ticket Sales Report the Orpheum Theater ranks #48 among the Top 200 Theatres Worldwide, up 10 spots from year-end 2017. The Holland Performing Arts Center’s Peter Kiewit Concert Hall is ranked #120th in the same worldwide venue listing, up three slots from 2017.
Pollstar is the only trade publication covering the worldwide concert industry. The year-end rankings were based on ticket sales for shows that played between November 23, 2017 and November 21, 2018. During that time 149,110 tickets were sold for the Orpheum and 61,104 tickets sold for Peter Kiewit Concert Hall events.
Omaha Performing Arts owns and operates the Holland Performing Arts Center and manages and maintains the Orpheum Theater. Ticket sales for the Orpheum and the Holland are listed separately by the publication.
“We continually strive to make Omaha a destination for top entertainers and Broadway productions,” Joan Squires, president of Omaha Performing Arts said. “Our audiences have come to expect this and have supported our efforts which helps both venues climb in the worldwide rankings for ticket sales.”
