At the Nebraska High School Theater Academy, we celebrate the power of the arts and – most of all – we celebrate our participants. We welcome schools of all sizes and students of all experience levels. We support theater programs by connecting teachers and students with Broadway stars, theater professionals and others who love the stage just as much as they do. Started in 2013 as the Nebraska High School Theatre Awards with just 22 Omaha-area schools, NHSTA now reaches across the entire state with more than 8,000 students annually.
We want our participants to reach for the stars – that’s why we offer learning opportunities all year long! The academy offers access to master classes and virtual workshops with Broadway artists, live theater experiences with tickets to touring Broadway shows, professional feedback on school performances, confidence-building through audition and performance opportunities, a chance to represent the state at the Broadway League’s Jimmy Awards in NYC and a celebration of your dedication and accomplishments at the Tony Awards®-inspired showcase event.
NHSTA has expanded to include up to 70 high schools and 10 middle schools for the 2019/2020 school year! Registration opens Monday, August 26th.
